SCOPE/GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: 

Responsible for consulting duties specific to client contractual agreements, remote code and documentation review, education, process improvement and client communication. This role is performed remotely in a HIPAA compliant home office setting. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provides timely remote charge capture and documentation reviews for established clients per contractual agreements. 
  • Maintains and delivers accurate client worksheets and deliverables. 
  • Participates in delivering client educational sessions either onsite or remote. 
  • Monitors client(s) for potential compliance concerns and communicates concerns with leadership. 
  • Assists in creating and updating client specific resources, i.e. flow diagrams, documentation templates and job aides. 
  • Provide effective and professional client communication via email or phone.
  • Maintains working knowledge and written client data of assigned client(s).
  • Monitor client(s) for opportunities for process improvement and education. 
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, finances and all other company and client information. 
  • Maintains working knowledge and demonstrates ability to research aspects of proper coding, documentation, and reimbursement as it related to client and company needs. 
  • Maintains awareness of related industry changes, trends, emerging technology, and electronic medical record systems related to oncology. 
  • Applies clinical experience to identify and communicate best practice recommendations. 
  • Submit accurate and timely invoices and expense reports per RCCS policy. 
  • Adheres to all RCCS corporate polices and procedures. 
  • Demonstrates proficiency utilizing hardware and software including but not limited to Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, Visio and web-based meeting capabilities. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred 
  • Registered Radiation Therapist or oncology certified nurse with a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience 
  • Coding certification requires within two (2) years of employment 
  • Maintains licensure as a Radiation Therapist, Nurse and/or Medical Dosimetrist if applicable 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Knowledge of organization policies and procedures 
  • Knowledge of healthcare administration principles
  • Knowledge of clinical processes and procedures as they relate to the industry marketplace  
  • Skilled in exercising initiative, judgement, discretion and decision making to achieve business unit objectives 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staffing in cancer centers, hospitals, and business related organizations. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with all employees and clients 
  • Knowledge of CPT-4, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding 
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing 
  • Ability to type at least sixty (60) words per minute
